Getting Started
How do I start my journey?
You can know a bit more about me and my services in a free 30-minute chat to connect and ensure that I am a good fit for your needs.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to begin. There is no waitlist as well. You can simply reach out directly to start.
Session Format
Can we connect online?
Yes, I offer secure video and voice sessions for Cantonese speakers throughout Australia. You can find support from the comfort and privacy of your own home, wherever you are based in Australia.
Is there an in-person option?
For those in the Brisbane area, I offer walk-and-talk sessions in a public location (e.g. a park, restaurant or cafe). This provides a natural setting to process your feelings while getting some fresh air.
Availability
When can we connect?
I offer flexible hours to suit your schedule: Monday to Friday (4 PM – 7 PM AEST) and Saturdays (10 AM – 7 PM AEST). Whether you prefer an evening after work or a weekend session, I can find a time that works for you.
Can you accommodate different Australian time zones?
Yes, all telehealth sessions are scheduled using AEST/AEDT. Since I support the Cantonese diaspora across all of Australia, I am mindful of time differences and will work with you to coordinate a time that is convenient in your local area.
What if I need a session outside of these hours?
Your well-being is important. If the current windows don't align with your needs, please reach out via email. I can also refer you to suitable services that better fit your schedule.
Fees and Payments
What is the cost per session?
$90 for 50-minute telehealth sessions and $100 for 60-minute walk-and-talk sessions. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, please reach out and we can discuss a plan better fit for you.
How do I pay?
Secure bank transfers are completed before our session begins.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No referral is necessary. By operating as a private service, we ensure immediate access and complete privacy, allowing you to focus entirely on your wellbeing without navigating the complexities of the public healthcare system.
Confidentiality
Will our sessions be kept private?
Yes. Professional standards ensure that everything discussed and the notes I may make remains private within our sessions. I can further explain confidentiality in detail within the check-in session.
Do I have to use video for online sessions?
Telehealth gives you the flexibility to choose what feels most comfortable: video, audio-only, or a blend of both over time. It is completely okay to use audio only if you feel uncomfortable being on camera. Your comfort, privacy, and safety are always our priority.
Who I Work With
Who do you provide therapy for?
Do you see couples, families, or children?
Can I speak English during therapy?
I work exclusively with adults (18+). My experience includes supporting university and post-graduate students, second-generation immigrants, and individuals living with anxiety and depression.
At this time, I do not work with couples, families, or children. My practice focuses on providing a dedicated individual space for adults navigating their life paths.
Yes, absolutely. Sessions can be in English, Cantonese, or a mix of both. The "right" language depends on what feels the most comfortable for you and supports you best.
What if I'm unsure if we are a good fit?
It makes sense that it can be hard to know if a counsellor will be a good fit. That’s why I offer a free 30-minute chat, so you can get to know me a little better and ask any questions you may have. It’s a low-risk way to see how it feels to talk together before deciding on ongoing therapy.
